She took mini-cupcakes to school and for dinner, Zaxby\u2019s was her restaurant of choice. Her favorite presents were mini Lalaloopsy dolls \u2013 a perfect gift for children with muscle weakness \u2013 and a tiny, shelf-sized guitar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.calliegolden.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/callie-guitar.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-676\" src=\"http:\/\/www.calliegolden.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/callie-guitar-259x300.jpg\" alt=\"callie-guitar\" width=\"175\" height=\"234\" \/><\/a>Despite a couple illnesses, Callie\u2019s health has been good overall. She\u2019s determined and continues to excel in school, despite needing frequent breaks. Her teacher and nurse are wonderful and regularly adapt activities and play time so Callie\u2019s always included.<\/p>\n<p>Birthdays tend to be bittersweet for our family. It was around Callie\u2019s first birthday that she wa<a href=\"http:\/\/www.calliegolden.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/callie-dolls.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-675\" src=\"http:\/\/www.calliegolden.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/callie-dolls-300x231.jpg\" alt=\"callie-dolls\" width=\"211\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a>s diagnosed with SMA.
